Each Wednesday I will be linking up with Rebecca from Becca Blogs it Out to share my weight loss and fitness progress through Weigh in Wednesday. We’d love you to join in! You can find the link at the bottom of this post.

You can catch up on last week’s post here.

Today’s Weigh In

My starting weight was 13st 12lbs

As of today, August 1st 2018, I weigh 14st 0lbs.

Yep…I’ve gone up 2lbs.

This is a bit disheartening I won’t lie, however I haven’t put in as much effort as I could have. Instead of moping I’m going to use it as motivation for next month!

I haven’t taken my measurements this week as I wasn’t keen to engage with a measuring tape after the scales told me off…bloody scales. I did however track my steps for the week using my fitbit app so I thought I would share that instead.

Last week I set myself the goal to walk 2000 steps each day. As I mentioned before, this won’t be a lot for many of you, but for someone who works from home it can be difficult to achieve unless I go out of my way to make it happen. Four out of seven ain’t bad and the days I didn’t reach my goal I still walked over 1000 steps, but this can definitely be improved on.

Changes I Could Make to Progress

Last week I spoke about beginning steadily. Whilst that is the right approach to an extent I feel like I definitely need more structure in my week, or even my days, to make sure I’m staying relatively healthy and not over eating. Last week I had a family BBQ and a wedding on the same day. Instead of preparing for these by eating healthily for the rest of the week I essentially ate what I was in the mood for. I need a bit more planning than that!

I’m setting myself the same goal as last week, to walk 2000 steps each day. I will track it in the same way, using my fitbit app, and hopefully we will see some improvement over the next seven days!

Thoughts for this Week

Don’t let lack of progress stop you. My weight went up this week, but it was only two pounds and that could be down to a number of factors. We are in a new week now and I have a new opportunity to make improvements to my lifestyle and my health.

  1. A gain is always disappointing, but I think anyone would struggle to lose weight when they’ve had a wedding and a bbq etc!! Good luck for next week! x

  2. I’ve had a rubbish week too. I’ve been away for a few days, and all I have done is eat rubbish. Back to it now. The thing to do is draw a line under it and get back on track! X

  3. I think it’s great that you’ve posted you gained and great that you aren’t knocked by it. There are so many reasons to weigh more than last week and 2lbs is nothing. You recognise where you can improve and I’m sure next week it’ll be down, not up! Best of luck 🙂

    1. Thanks Jenny! I think it’s so easy to edit things in a blog post or on social media to make everything look really positive, but it’s not realistic isn’t it? I know when I look back over my posts I’ll appreciate the bad weeks just as much as the good ones, because they helped me to improve!

  4. Im on a mission to lose weight at the moment – you’re right planning helps. I’ve also noticed that exercise makes a big difference to my measurements – when I’m doing yoga regularly my clothes get looser – but I only take measurements every few months though. Hope you have a good week Love Bec xx

    1. Definitely Bec. I always notice more of a difference when I’m more active, even if it’s just walking! Do you post about your weight loss? You should join in with out linky! I’m finding the weekly update helpful, but some weeks I’ll be looking at my measurements, other weeks I’ll focus on my efforts 🙂
