I’m a creature of comforts. Blankets, jumpers, soft PJs, a good cuppa; I love them all. So I thought it would be fun to begin a weekly post called Sunday Comforts. Every Sunday I will share a little snippet of something that makes my heart happy. It can be so therapeutic, especially on bad days, to take a moment to reflect on the small things in life that make you smile.
Sunday Comforts – Jumpers
Over the summer we have been gifted with sunny day after sunny day which has been wonderful…but I’ve been without one of my favourite things. Today is the first day in months that I have been able to wear a jumper. Those who know me will know how unheard of that is. I live in them and I love them. Today, I’ve very happy.
Be it my oldest scruffiest sweatshirt that I throw on when I’m lounging about the house or a brand new knit that I’ve bought especially for Christmas day, they make my heart happy. I’m always a bit chilly (well unless we have an insane heat wave) and I find so much comfort in having that extra layer of soft fabric hugging me all day.
My absolute favourite jumper (yes I have a favourite) is a cream chunky knit. It is nothing special, an £8 number I found in Primark one year when I was on a student budget. It’s far too big for me and makes me look like a sack of potatoes, but I love it all the same. It’s incredibly cosy, covering my hands if I don’t roll up the sleeves, and it is ideal for layering. Big enough that I can fit a long sleeved top underneath, but small enough that my jacket still fits over the top. Perfect!
Is there something you would like me to cover on a future Sunday? Let me know in the comments!
