Word of the Week – Disappear

Each Friday, I would like to share a word of the week with you. Something that summarises what I’ve been up to, how I’ve felt and how life is generally going. I’d love if you’d share one in the comments. It can be so therapeutic to reflect on what’s been happening, good or bad!

This week I have chosen the word disappear

If you enjoy my nonsense ramblings each week you might have noticed that last week I disappeared! I’m not a magician (sorry if you’re disappointed by this news), it was just one of those days. I wasn’t organised with a blog post, on either of my blogs, and I had so much going on with freelance work that it all felt too much.

Instead of forcing myself to churn out a jumble of words I chose to just do nothing. That might sound quite lazy to some, but I think it was the right decision for me. Yes I missed a day and my stats probably took a bit of a hit as a result, but I was able to finish off my work, enjoy my weekend and then get back to work first thing Monday morning with a clear head.

It has actually done me the world of good as I am now organised on Sunshine and Rain with two weeks worth of posts and counting. It feels so nice to be organised and it means I won’t have to disappear again any time soon.

Disappear is a perfect word to describe this year too, don’t you agree? I realise that I sound like my Grandma right now, but time is disappearing so quickly! As of Tuesday there are only three months until Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, I loooooove the holidays, but it’s actually scaring me just how quickly it is coming round. Hopefully getting a bit more organised will allow me to slow down some days and enjoy some more time in the moment!

So there it is, my word of the week and a summary of the past seven days.

  1. I’ve often had to skip a week of linking up, sometimes you just can’t fit everything all in. I agree about time flying too, I can’t believe how fast September is going. Have a great weekend x #wotw

    1. It’s funny, I was worrying about missing out on the post. But of course, the world didn’t end and now I’m back on track! You to Angela 🙂 #WotW

  2. I tend to disappear a lot lately, it doesn’t do any harm. It’s good that you’ve had a break and come back with some fresh ideas. Yes, time does move so very fast, it seems like we only come back from holiday yesterday and it’s nearly Christmas already!

    1. From shorts and Tshirts to blankets and candles so quickly Anne! I can’t complain though, I love this time of year! #WotW

  3. Sometimes you need a break and it sounds like you did the right thing taking a day off.
I was only saying to my friend today that it didn’t seem that long since last Christmas. This year sure is flying over. #Wotw

  4. Sometimes you just need to do nothing and sloe down a notch or too. Glad you are feeling better, eek the thought of Christmas 😂 X #wotw

    1. That’s what I’m doing now Louise 🙂 If I can get a full week or so ahead of myself with posts I’ll be happy! #WotW
