Each Wednesday I link up with Rebecca from Becca Blogs it Out to share my health and fitness progress with you and have a chat about all things wellbeing through Wellbeing Wonders. We’d love you to join in! You can find the link at the bottom of this post and you can connect with us using the hashtag #WellbeingWonders. This week I’m sharing a weight loss update.
You can catch up on last week’s post here.
Some time away
Wellbeing can mean so many things. Most of the time I write about healthy living and mental health on my blog but today is slightly different. As you read this I am sitting in a cosy cottage in North Yorkshire with my in-laws. We don’t have many plans. Relax, eat good food, go on some walks, keep the little ones entertained. It is just what I need right now!
Taking time away from “it all”, whatever it all is, is so so important. The irony in this is that I have brought my laptop with me and I will be doing small amounts of work throughout the week. For the most part however I am switching off and enjoying a change of environment.
We are surrounded by fields and hills and it is so windy I can practically feel the cobwebs being blown away. We’re going to be enjoying so much fresh air it’ll knock us out and a few good long walks that will have our legs aching. Of course, they will make that sit down in front of the open fire so much more enjoyable.
The house is basic but beautiful. There’s a pine table in the kitchen big enough for all nine of us, plus another family. We can all find a comfy seat in the living room and there’s even a boot room for kicking off all of our muddy shoes after exploring the countryside.
I love it so much and I can already feel the benefits it is having on my health, both mentally and physically. Healthy eating, exercise, mindfulness; they’re all great. But my favourite form of wellbeing is time well spent with family.
