Word of the Week – Health

Each Friday, I would like to share a word of the week with you. Something that summarises what I’ve been up to, how I’ve felt and how life is generally going. I’d love if you’d share one in the comments. It can be so therapeutic to reflect on what’s been happening, good or bad!

 

This week I have chosen the word Health

If you’ve been reading my Wellbeing Wonders posts you will know I’ve been working on improving my health, both mental and physical. I’ve made small changes here and there but honestly, there has been no significant change. I seem to have taken on the attitude that not eating a kilo of chocolate every single day means I’m being healthy, even though it still happens on a regular basis. (a kilo is an exaggeration but you get the idea).

This week I’ve decided that November is the month I will take a no excuses approach. For just 30 days I’m taking my healthy seriously. No bad foods, no alcohol, plenty of rest around work. For one whole month. My goal is to see what changes happen in everything from my weight, to my mood and energy levels. I’m also hoping for some improvements in my skin, which doctors have told me there is no treatment for. If you have keratosis polaris you will know what I mean.

Apparently it only takes four weeks to develop new habits. If all goes well some of my changes will become normal practice for me instead of something I have to challenge myself to attempt. Of course I will go back to enjoying the odd glass of wine and bar of chocolate, but in more reasonable quantities. My health deserves it!

 

So there it is, my word of the week and a summary of the past seven days.

  3. I have slipped to eating chocolate lately and I never eat it normally, but wine and gin are totally my vices, I do love a glass with my dinner but its all about moderation isn’t it, you can do this xxx
