Word of the Week – Post

Each Friday, I would like to share a word of the week with you. Something that summarises what I’ve been up to, how I’ve felt and how life is generally going. I’d love if you’d share one in the comments. It can be so therapeutic to reflect on what’s been happening, good or bad!

This week I have chosen the word Post

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve walked to the post box and back this week. I should point out of course, that this isn’t a complaint. In fact, I’m delighted to have had to do so. Winter is always the slowest time for me work wise and as such my income tends to drop, particularly in December. In order to help combat this I’ve made a commitment to earn as much money as possible in other ways over the coming weeks in the run up to Christmas. I wrote a whole post about it on my other blog, here.

If you have ever come across a money blog or Instagram account then you will know that two of the most popular ways to earn a bit of extra income are completing surveys and selling unwanted items via Ebay. I love both and so far they are helping out a great deal with my goal. It does mean having to leave the house every day to post parcels, but I do need to up my daily step count anyway so I can only look at this as an added benefit!

As the festive season approaches, so does the busy diary which tends to leave me with less time to work and keep on top of blogging. I’m taking advantage of the quieter days that I have now and preparing a lot of posts in advance to make sure I don’t get overwhelmed. The more posts I finish, the fewer I am likely to panic write at the last minute!

  1. I think I can say ‘snap’ here because I’ve been selling on Ebay too this week. I love it when something sells but parcelling it up and getting it in the post is not something I do enjoy. I can’t go to the post office myself so I have nagging involved too!
thanks for linking up to #Wotw

    1. Same Anne, not too keen on the actual posting part! Thankfully a lot of the things I’ve been selling have been small enough to pop in a large envelope and send as a large letter, which means just having to go to the end of the road instead. #WotW

  2. It is lovely recieving post albeit bills 😉 I have sold some bits of eBay, great way to make a few pounds X #wotw

    1. Haha absolutely! The only post I don’t like is all the food/booze shop mini brochures. Especially when you get two of the same in one day. Why?! #WotW

    1. Now that I’ve been freelancing for almost two years I have an idea of the amount of work I’m likely to get each month so it would be silly not to plan ahead. I can’t complain though, being quieter gives me more time for all of my plans with friends and family and that’s wonderful! #WotW
