I’m a creature of comforts. Blankets, jumpers, soft PJs, a good cuppa; I love them all. So I thought it would be fun to begin a weekly post called Sunday Comforts. Every Sunday I will share a little snippet of something that makes my heart happy. It can be so therapeutic, especially on bad days, to take a moment to reflect on the small things in life that make you smile.

Sunday Comforts – Reading a Good Book

Whenever I find myself with a quiet day my default activity is to grab a good book, my blanket, a cuppa and curl up on the sofa or in bed. With so much going on in life, and the world in general, I love having the opportunity to get lost in the pages of someone else’s thoughts and ideas.

Recently my personal preference has been the personal development and business genre. I love reading about the success of other people and expanding on my own knowledge and skills constantly. Especially when that means finding more efficient ways of working and methods of improving my mindset. You can never stop learning can you?

In particular, the Slight Edge by Jeff Olson has been my favourite. I actually wrote a post about it a while back on my other blog and I’m now reading it for the second time. It’s one of those books that you read and nod along with the whole way. In very simple terms, it talks about the impact that the little decisions we make each day have on our life over long periods of time, good and bad. It is such a simple concept but the way Jeff talks about it just makes so much sense and clicks with you word after word. If you love a good personal growth read I’d highly recommend it!

If you have any recommendations for me, fiction or non, please do share them in the comments!
