Word of the Week – Coffee

Each Friday, I would like to share a word of the week with you. Something that summarises what I’ve been up to, how I’ve felt and how life is generally going. I’d love if you’d share one in the comments. It can be so therapeutic to reflect on what’s been happening, good or bad!

This week I have chosen the word Coffee

It has been one of those weeks. I honestly feel like I should be sponsored by coffee. My energy levels have been so low and my mood has been right down there too. I’m not sure if I can attribute it to hormones (always a joy!) or all the alcohol I drank at the weekend. Bottomless beer always seems like a good idea before it happens. A mixture of both is most likely but I certainly think I over did it on Saturday and my poor body is telling me to slow down!

Thankfully the coffee has been working and I’ve managed to tackle all of my usual work and even write an extra blog post for the first time in weeks so I’m pleased about that. I can’t tell you how ready I am for some long lies this weekend though. The later sunrise will certainly help with that on Sunday!

On a far brighter note, the fact that we are in Autumn right now means that my absolute favourite seasonal drink is available to help get me through the low energy days. Pumpkin spiced lattes! Yes it is cliche and yes everyone and their dog drinks them but I can’t help myself. Pumpkin spiced lattes are my favourite hot drink. Is there anything better than walking through the park on a chilly day, wrapped up warm with a hot drink in your hand? It seriously brightens my mood and has really helped this week in particular.

(on a side note, please don’t actually give your dog coffee…I can only imagine the horror that would follow)

I’m off to boil the kettle and hope to goodness that I can re-energise this weekend!

  1. I do like a good coffee, but I’m more of a tea drinker. In fact I’m a bit weird and I can’t stand the smell of coffee in the morning. I almost gag making a cup for my Husband. I do like flavoured coffees though but *gasp* I don’t think I’ve ever tried a pumpkin spiced latte!

    1. Right, I’m taking you and Kim out for a cuppa! haha. I do know what you mean, I tend to jump between tea and coffee. Fortunate that I enjoy both! #wotw

  2. Ahh! Coffee is a wonderful thing. It keeps me going some days when I’ve not had enough sleep.
I have never tried a Pumpkin spiced latte but it is on my list of things to do. lol
Thank you for the tip about the HP Sprocket. You’ve saved Christmas! I would have never have thought about one until you mentioned it xx

    1. Oh you’ll need to be quick Kim, they’ll be switched out for the Christmas flavours soon! Oh I’m so glad that might be a good option! I love that you said I’ve saved Christmas…I feel like santa claus now 😀 haha! #wotw

  3. Ah, yes. We’ve all had weeks like that. Hope this weekend puts you back on your feet again. I do like flavoured coffees, although not the overly sweet ones. Glad your weekend went well. #wotw

  4. Coffee is always a good word! can’t be without my daily mug (or three) Never had a pumpkin spiced latte but I have had a Bonfire spice one so no judgement here!

    1. Bonfire spiced?! Karen, tell me where you’ve found this glorious beverage right now please!! Haha, it sounds incredible! I do try enjoy them as an occasional treat but we’re about to lose our autumnal flavours to the Christmas menu soon so I need to find this drink soon #wotw
